Buffer latency estimator

See how buffer size and sample rate affect the theoretical buffer delay.

One buffer = samples ÷ sample rate × 1000 ms. Two buffers approximate input + output buffer time only. Actual round-trip latency also includes converters, driver safety buffers and plug-ins; check Logic’s reported latency.

Uncompressed audio size

Estimate the PCM audio payload before bouncing a WAV or AIFF file.

Bytes = seconds × sample rate × (bits ÷ 8) × channels. MB uses 1,000,000 bytes; MiB uses 1,048,576 bytes. File headers and embedded metadata add a little more. This does not estimate MP3, AAC or compressed formats.
